Nicholas M. Krohn

I am a self-published author that has been writing since 2005 and has been publishing books since 2017.

My goal: to impact the world for good with my books in the name of Jesus Christ.

Yes, I am an independent, fundamental, Bible-believing Baptist Christian and my fervent desire is to live my life in a God-honoring fashion and to tell people of Jesus Christ and His gift of salvation so they might be rescued from the judgment that is coming after death.

I was raised in a Christian (albeit slightly broken) home and was actually expected by many to one day become a pastor. I even went to Heartland Baptist Bible College, a college known for creating preachers. But that, it seems, was not God's plan for me. Instead, He called me to be a writer.

We Baptists are quite known for being preachers, but not many authors. I suppose that is why God prepared me for this craft. For I have been telling stories as long as I can remember. I have been jotting down fantastical tales since I first learned how to write. My 6th Grade teacher, I remember, often told me how I had a gift for story ideas and storytelling. So, in 2016, I got serious about it. And here we are, so many years later.

I'm married to the most gorgeous, most creative, most wonderful woman in all of existence! My partner in crime and best friend, Marissa. She is 99% the reason my books are so awesome! She is my chief editor and cover artist. Krohn'Stories would be nothing without her!

I am a proud father of some delightfully crazy and crazily delightful kids (yes, he's standing on my head. He did this long enough for me to get out my phone and take a picture of it)! I love them to death and am happy to use them as inspiration for some of the wacky shenanigans that some of my characters go through. They pray on a nightly basis that God would help me sell my books, which is just SO heartwarming!

Epic Fantasy is my favorite genre (both to read and write) partly because I'm a massive geek. I grew up on Star Wars, Legend of Zelda, Dragonball Z, Pokemon, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and 90's Disney (the best kind of Disney). I was ecstatic to be transported to faraway lands where evil was vanquished and good prevailed. I want to bring that kind of joy to others by transporting them off to the world of Zalia to see the fantastical creatures, the daring duels, and the swooning romances.

I have experienced the lows of divorced parents, an alcoholic step-father, contemplation of suicide, and the isolation of a boys' home, all while I was merely a kid. These things still haunt me in my adulthood. They are not fun or happy to discuss, but I also know I'm not the only one who has gone through life's lows. And, comparatively, my afflictions are extremely light compared to many other people throughout the world. But that is why I am endeavoring to be a help to all those who have cried themselves to sleep. Part of my mission with my books is to showcase characters navigating dark and troubling times so as to provide hope to those who may not have much.
No matter how dark it seems, there is always a light. And that light is Jesus, dear friend.
