Fun Facts!
Though Boaz takes the role of the kinsman redeemer to continue Mahlon's line, Obed is recorded throughout Scripture as Boaz's son.
Throughout the book of Ruth, it can be seen that the real-life characters can also symbolize different entities. Boaz represents Jesus, Naomi represents the Holy Spirit, and Ruth represents the lost that are brought to Christ.
Though Ruth is often assumed to be a physically beautiful woman, she is never described as such in the Bible. Whereas women such as Esther, Rachel, Sarah, and others are clearly noted as beautiful. This is not to say that she was not physically beautiful, but points out that certain qualities of biblical heroes are automatically assumed when they are not specifically mentioned. However, regardless of her outer beauty, Ruth was unquestionably beautiful of character and spirit.
